Position Description

Seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Southern Minnesota.

Position Overview:

  • Full Time – 40 hours a week – M-F 8AM – 5PM with possible Saturday morning hours
  • Scope: Primary Care
  • Setting:  Work site clinic – covering work site clinic employees and their dependents ages 2+
  • Experience needed: No New Grads – Must have at least 1 year exp in primary care/ family / urgent care/ employee health setting
  • Salary target: 130 - 138K

Summary:
The full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will provide clinical services for all inured and ill patients in the client’s workplace clinic. The practitioner is expected to deliver excellent clinical care in accordance with current, nationally recognized standards and guidelines to patients with diverse illnesses and injuries. This new employer based clinic is anticipated to be fast-paced. This provider will practice alongside a registered nurse and medical assistant team. The work week is generally Monday through Friday (some Saturday hours, no call).

The position requires a good working relationship with the employer, the supervising/collaborative physician and medical leadership. The practitioner will work in close cooperation with companies operations leader to ensure optimal clinic operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluation and treatment of illnesses and injuries while functioning as an advocate for both the patient/employee and the employer
  • Provide the following services to employees, their spouses and dependents age two years and older.
  • Urgent care for minor, non-work related illnesses and injuries
  • Limited primary care for chronic stable medical conditions
  • Preventive care programs (i.e. screening for hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol)
  • Adult immunizations and influenza immunizations for children
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Participate in, support, develop and help motivate others to participate in wellness programs
  • Ability to conduct physical exams and interpret exam results required for regulatory and policy compliance, e.g., physical abilities testing, respirator fit testing, hearing conservation evaluations.
  • Assist with pre-employment and employee drug screens.
  • Discuss patient care with the supervising/collaborative physician, the patient’s primary care physician (where applicable) and other care-givers as appropriate.
  • Compliance with CDC guidelines for vaccine storage, handling, and administration.
  • Initial evaluation and stabilization of patients who present with illnesses or injuries that require a higher level of care or EMS transport.

Minimum Education and Certification requirements:

  • No New Grads, must have 1 full year of experience - Primary care, urgent care or emergency department experience desired.
  • Experience or working knowledge of workers compensation and occupational health
  • useful. Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to be flexible with schedule; will include some Saturday shifts and may include some evening/weekend shifts over time.
  • Licensure in the State of Minnesota
